In the fall of 1997, a group called the Mason-Dixon Mushers were formed.

Our groups first race was held in the Pocono Mountains of Gouldsboro State Park, PA. January 3, 1998. From left to right: Duane Johnson/Tana & Sundance, Bob Walther/Zeus, Lori Elvera/Joanie, Dan Elvera/Frisco, Connie Rudd/Thunder, Robbin Cline/Tomo, Tammy Walther/Sugar, Robert Walther/Stoney, Gina Serra/Rudy.

This group is guided under the expertise of Connie Rudd, Summit Ridge Samoyeds.  With her time & talents, Connie has shared with us her love of sledding. With combined efforts of all the dogs, owners, equipment and dedication, this group continues to grow and enjoy the sport of dog sledding.

Joanie's first season in harness, she ran at lead with Bob Walther's team. However, mother nature didn't provide enough snow that season. Races were cancelled, so our teams continued to train on dirt in the hopes that next season would be better.

This was the last race of the season. It was held at Pack Forest in Warrensburg NY.
